Introduction According to investor relations, The Walt Disney Companyââ¬â¢s exemplifies an organization composed of four strategic business units which, with the consideration of the consolidated revenue, represented roughly an enormous 35.5 billion dollars in 2007. The four SBUs are Disney Consumer Products, Studio Entertainment, Parks and Resorts, and Media Networks Broadcasting, and these can be further subdivided into 28 categories and are composed of a plethora of brands. The only two important commonalities that can be deduced upon inspection of the entirety of the Walt Disney Companyââ¬â¢s holdings are entertainment and information. Every business activity the organization is engaged in is related in some manner. To providing its consumer base entertainment and/or information. Despite the two Commonalities of the Walt Disney Companyââ¬â¢s activities, there exists a tremendous spectrum of variety in its operations. One of the growth strategies that have helped the conglomeration reach its current level of success is the fact that the organization has expanded, both vertically and horizontally, into new markets by targeted segmentation. In most cases, it reaches these market segments with an acquired brand, such as ESPN, ABC, and Miramax Films. Also, it is only through the branching out in branding that Disney has grown simply because the childrenââ¬â¢s brand is comparatively limited in terms of the target demographic. Personal Philosophy Of Supervision And Evaluation - 753 Words
Within this assignment, I will identify my personal philosophy of supervision and evaluation. Currently I have been in the educational system for 15 years. Throughout this experience, I have endured multiple variations of supervision styles and evaluations. Some of the supervision styles / evaluation processes have proven to be positive while others have not. Even though some of the styles have not proven to be beneficial to my teaching career, or build my capacity as a teacher, all of these experiences have helped to develop my beliefs on supervision and evaluation. Through collegiate discussions and the course text, I now understand that educational beliefs are the foundation of a supervisory platform (Glickman, Gordan, Ross-Gordan, 2014). We all have some kind of family or someone we are very close too and when we are taken from each other or they are forced to leave to another country we feel as if a piece of us is missing. A big part of immigration is due to family reunification and most people go through all the trouble and hardship just to be reunited with their family and in the end to them it is worth it. I know people who have been separated from the direct family for more than 25 years; itââ¬â¢s not a good feeling knowing your loved ones are thousands of miles away from you. Some families have their husbands in America while they are stuck at home waiting on paper work. That in turn takes so long to get cleared and then the family gets here and has to be re-taught everything they think they know. Itââ¬â¢s not fair that those families have to go through all that just to be with their loved ones. The government also has a very large part in immigration because they can control who can come to our country and who cannot. In the end they make the final decision and sometimes that diction is the wrong one. Sometimes the government lets terrorist into our country not knowingly but then leaves future scientist and Nobel Peace Prize Winners out of the country. We need to reevaluate our choices on who comes into our country. Sometimes we make the wrong choices and separate families because of fear of terrorism in which we are wrong most of the time. Instead of our government kicking people out and not letting them in we should be helping them into our country legally with quicker approval because the waiting list and line itââ¬â¢s far too long. The government also loses money when they donââ¬â¢t let immigrants in the states who want to work and take little paying jobs to support their families. The future of our economy depends on hard working Americans that are trying to make a decent living. Most of them work a 9-5 everyday with little room for rest because they have another job to go too. Most of these hard working Americans are in fact illegal immigrants who are working under the table with little pay even though they are working harder than most Americans. Those immigrants are doing all the jobs that most of us do not want to do because they donââ¬â¢t pay nearly enough and that goes for every race. What we donââ¬â¢t realize is that if we took all the illegal immigrants out of work our economy will be devastated they hold a great percentage of our working people. Itââ¬â¢s sad to say that most foreigners work harder than some Americans for less pay and more difficult lower jobs. The real question here is if we should let immigrants into our country but history has said it before, we are all immigrants unless we have Native American blood line in which only a few of us have. So we have no real right to say who should be in our country because we ourselves are outsiders and took this land from the natives not too long ago. If you have hundreds of thousands of people who are willing to work why not let them work? It will boost our economy and bring more voters in the U. S. so itââ¬â¢s great for politics as well. In my opinion I think immigration reform is needed because I myself am not from this country but it took hard work to get where I am now. There are also many other hard workers besides me that are not from this country but would want to be.
